Avi Klapfer Yosi Naaman Diving Undersea Hunter Cocos Island

Founders Avi Klapfer and Yosy Naaman share extensive experience and carry impressive credentials both as explorers and as sea captains. The “UNDERSEA HUNTER” and “SEA HUNTER” were born out of Avi’s and Yosy’s fascination with the ocean and the undersea world. The quality and spirit of this venture offers an incomparable portal into the marine environment, as well as one of the most versatile platforms for the production of large-scale underwater film projects.

Avi Klapfer carries an international reputation as a sailor, diver and underwater photographer/cinematographer. His career began as a Command Captain in the Israeli Navy in 1975 and has included oceanic search and recovery missions on a 4000-ton research/supply vessel. His experience has included dive charter vessel design and management in the Red Sea, Palau and Costa Rica. In addition to operating the UNDERSEA HUNTER fleet, his current activities are focused on major commercial marine ventures that can effectively support complex cinematographic productions, eco-tourism and dive expeditions, which require his talents as an artist, engineer, diver and sea captain.

Yosy Naaman joined Avi and his wife, Orly, for their sailing circumnavigation of the globe in 1984-86. In 1990, he left his position as an industrial electronics specialist and computer programmer to rejoin his shipmates as a partner in the creation of the UNDERSEA HUNTER fleet. Together, Klapfer and Naaman create a special combination of technical expertise that allows functionality and creative opportunities, which rarely co-exist in a standard dive charter operation.
