Edwar was born in Colombia in 1976 and his passion and love for the sea led him to become a marine biologist. He graduated in 2002 from the University of Bogota-Jorge Tadeo Lozano. From the moment he saw Cocos Island, his life changed forever, and he has been living, traveling and working in Costa Rica ever since.
Throughout his career, Edwar has logged thousands of hours diving at Cocos Island, Malpelo Island, and various other sites worldwide. His diverse skill set extends beyond just being a recreational scuba instructor, technical diving instructor, and yacht captain. As a professional freelance photographer and videographer, he has worked on several underwater film productions ranging from short documentaries and news stories, to full-length films.
