“We had amazing dives with a lot of shark action! Dirty Rock and Small Dos Amigos were on fire. The crew is wonderful, Brayan and Diego are great diveguides and made our experiences unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back. There is no better place worldwide for diving – thanks for another wonderful trip.” – Andreas and Gaby Baldauf
This expedition we said “adios” to 2021 and “HELLO” 2022 with some truly spectacular diving! Hammerheads, tiger sharks, giant manta rays, Galapagos sharks, dolphins…pretty much you name it and we saw it.

Manuelta, Dirty Rock, Alcyone, Punta Maria and Small Dos Amigos were our favorite spots for hammerhead cleaning station action. Galapagos sharks were everywhere this trip, particularly at Small Dos Amigos where we saw them in the largest quantities.

We had our closest encounters with tiger sharks at Big Dos Amigos and Manuelita Outside (where she was huge and pregnant!) The manta appeared at Manuelita’s second cleaning station. As for Alcyone, we saw mobula rays and marble rays on almost ever dive.

Dolphins chased the bigeye jacks at Alycone, as yellowfin tuna, blacktip sharks flitted to and fro. At Dirty Rock, we not only had schools of hammerheads, but also some truly MASSIVE schools of bigeye jacks and mullet snappers.

Then on afternoon dives we saw macro life like colorful frogfish, box crabs, mantis shrimp and color-changing octopuses.

What a phenomenal way to wrap up the year and begin a new one! Our crossing back to Puntarenas was full of sunshine and smiling divers.
