“Each of our dives was special and crazy and beautiful. The best memory for me is the whale shark. It was a dream. "La cerise sur le gateau" as we say in France. And now, when I close my eyes and try to sleep, I just see a wall of hammerheads” – Severine Cornu
Now for the trip highlights:

We had some awesome dives at Alcyone this expedition, with hammerheads gathering in big schools of 150+ individuals on top of the cleaning station! Dirty Rock was also amazing for hammerhead encounters, both coming into the cleaning stations and out in the blue.

Small Dos Amigos was nothing short of “epic” in the words of our cruise director, Sergio, with so many hammerheads and Galapagos sharks that we lost count. The icing on the cake was our close encounter there with a juvenile whale shark!

At Ulloa we discovered the endemic Cocos rosy-lipped batfish, an incredibly unique-looking fish that is only found at Cocos Island. Punta Maria showed us big Galapagos sharks and schooling hammerheads at the pinnacle.

The current around Manelita Island was a bit strong at times, but we thoroughly enjoyed our dives there and saw large creatures like hammerheads, eagle rays and tiger sharks (and also small critters like frogfish!). On our afternoon dives at Pajara we had fantastic visibility and saw lots of small stuff, but also hammerheads, Galapagos sharks and some close encounters with tiger sharks.

Other highlights included fish for days and mobula rays at Submerged Rock, and a tiger shark at the arch at Big Dos Amigos. We topped off the trip with a picture-perfect island hike!
