“That was the happiest 3 hours of my life,” was what one of our passengers had to say after his DeepSee dive. What a compliment! Another passenger had a tear coming down his cheek as we dropped into the abyss. This is what fuels us to carry out the best of our dives with such enthusiastic guests. Their emotion was infectious!

This trip the submarine took 16 passengers from the Argo & Sea Hunter. We also dove 2 times with marine biologist Beatriz Naranjo, from the University of Costa Rica, collecting samples with the robotic arm and grabbing transact videos for the sake of science.

We were rewarded with close encounters with mobula rays, and a curious giant Pacific manta glided in circles around the submarine for a good 20 minutes. Blacktip and silvertip sharks came and went at the dive site Dirty Avi at 70m/230ft.

Groupers gathered just inches from the acrylic window, looking at us in curiosity. Jellynose fish, scorpionfishes, frogfishes, moray eels and king crabs were found everywhere along the wall and rocks.

We’re sure the next trip will bring us even more surprises. We can’t wait to get back out to Cocos Island!

See you all there,

The pilots.
