As always, the deep waters of Cocos never disappoints and we had a fantastic trip with awesome experiences to share with you on this report!
We had the pleasure of the company of 7 enthusiastic passengers from the Argo and another 4 from the Sea Hunter.
The water column always had one exciting encounter or another for us as we descended down — whether it was a huge marlin (3m/10ft!), or a few hammerheads on their way to the island, mobula rays or silky sharks. On the wall, box and spider crabs were in abundance as well as jellynose fish and we’ve also found a couple of goosefish in their perfectly-camouflaged body features. Coming back from the wall, on the rocks on the platform, the habitat was teaming with groupers, scorpionfish, frogfish, brotulas, eels and crabs.
We’re coming back for one more trip this month before we leave with the Argo on a 3-week expedition to the Galapagos. We hope to see you there on-board the DeepSee.
